REVEALING LAYERS

When you peal fruit, it can never go back to what it was before you peeled it. The design inspiration for this project was the one-way transition that occurs when peeling away layers.  In my designs I used devoré, which is a printing process where you burn away the fabric in certain areas. I knitted fabric on the manual and electrical knitting machines with different patterns and techniques using a mixture of natural and synthetic yarns. Then I burned the natural yarns away to reveal the layers hidden underneath.
